Does my town's average tell me my home's number?
No. Health Canada (opens in a new tab) says radon levels "will vary from one house to another, even if they are similar designs and next door to each other."
The town average is a reason to test. Only a test gives you your number. Health Canada (opens in a new tab)'s guideline is 200 Bq/m³, and a long-term test runs at least 91 days.
